Jamie Carragher feels Casemiro’s legs have gone and claims to have noticed this aspect during Manchester United’s loss last season at Anfield.

There was a searing debate among fan bases on who was the best holding midfielder in the Premier League. Manchester United fans were championing Casemiro in that argument. They pinned the Brazilian alongside the likes of Arsenal’s Thomas Partey and Man City’s Rodri.

They had merit in the debate, for the £60 million Manchester United star had a fantastic impact since signing for the club last year. At times, the Red Devils suffered on the pitch without the Brazilian’s presence, who took many suspensions last season.

Since the start of the season, the £60 million Manchester United star has looked out of sorts. It has coincided with the club’s worst-ever start to a Premier League campaign. While Erik ten Hag suggested the club will bounce back from its recent slump, there are plenty of doubts about the Brazilian doing the same.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher insists Casemiro’s’ legs are gone’ after some terrible displays this season. He claimed to have noticed the Brazilian’s flailings last season during Manchester United’s loss at Anfield. He told Covering Liverpool that Casemiro reminded him of Fabinho from last term during his struggles.

Carragher said, “If I’m doing a piece on MNF. I think Casemiro’s legs have gone. I noticed it last season at Anfield and I didn’t like what I saw. It took me back to watching Fabinho last year for Liverpool, I think this. I want to be the first to say it, I don’t want to say it when everyone else is saying his legs have gone.”

Fabinho struggled last season, and it had a major impact on Liverpool’s performances last season. Jurgen Klopp relied on his Brazilian enforcer to control the tempo of the game, but the midfielder failed to showcase his old form.

A sale to Al Ittihad in the summer may have helped Liverpool recoup most of the money they paid to sign Fabinho. Manchester United are still in the hole for £60 million or more for Casemiro. The former Real Madrid star does not look like his imperious self and may continue to struggle. Carragher’s suggestions that his ‘legs are gone’ are very much true to a large extent.
