Fabinho has been linked with a move away from Liverpool this summer, and he is set to join Al Ittihad after completing his medical.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Fabinho is now set to join the Saudi Arabian outfit Al Ittihad. And the Liverpool midfielder has already completed his medical with them.

The Brazilian international joined Liverpool from AS Monaco in a £39 million deal, and he has helped them win every single trophy at club level. There is no doubt that the 29-year-old leaves as a club legend, and he will be hoping to pursue a different adventure in his career now.

It is fair to assume that he will receive a lucrative proposal from the Saudi Arabian club. So it makes sense for him to accept the offer at the stage of his career. Meanwhile, it was evident that the Brazilian is no longer at his best, and he looked like a shadow of his former self last season.

Liverpool needed to bring in a quality defensive midfielder, and the departure of Fabinho is hardly a surprise. Liverpool will have to bring in better players if they want to compete with Manchester City, and they are thought to be looking at Romeo Lavia from Southampton.

The former Manchester City midfielder is valued at £50 million, and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool are ready to pay up for him. The proceeds from the departure of Fabinho will certainly help Liverpool fund a move for the 19-year-old Belgian midfielder, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Meanwhile, Fabinho will look to make his mark in the Saudi Pro League in the coming season. Saudi Arabia seems determined to sign the best players in the world and they have already brought in a number of high-profile signings this summer.

Fabinho is not the only Liverpool midfielder heading to Saudi Arabia this summer. Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has joined Al Ettifaq as well. He will reunite with his former teammate, Steven Gerrard, who is currently managing the Saudi Arabian club.
