According to Football Insider, Leeds United could consider handing Daniel Farke a new contract to allow the German boss to continue at Elland Road. This news may not come as a surprise when it materialises, given that Farke has enjoyed three excellent years at the club, having guided them through promotion and then helping them stay in the Premier League.
Leeds United took a firm decision to appoint Daniel Farke as their new manager despite his below-par performances with Norwich City, particularly in the Premier League. It was always a risk for the club, especially if they considered the German capable of helping them return to the top flight.
Farke could not bring the club into the top flight in his first season, but the club kept faith in him, and he delivered in the 2024/25 campaign. Last season, Leeds United did not have the best of starts, and the club even considered options to replace Farke. However, the German tactician’s plans eventually clicked, as the team finished 14th in the table and comfortably avoided relegation.
Will Daniel Farke sign a new contract?
Leeds United had reportedly been considering a new deal for Farke earlier in 2026, which may have come at a time when the team were performing well. However, at this point, the club are strongly considering extending the manager’s stay, having already managed more than 150 games for the club across all competitions.
Despite the doubts late last year, which were somewhat understandable, given that managers succeeding in the EFL Championship often struggled in the top flight, the club are now ready to back the manager fully. The club have also supported Farke in the transfer market, with some key signings such as Jean-Matteo Bohoya and Harry Wilson signalling their ambition for the future.
Moreover, they also retained Noah Okafor late in the window, which was another positive indicator of the club’s direction moving forward. As for his new deal, it feels like only a matter of time before the two parties sit down to discuss the possibility of an extension beyond 2027, when his current contract expires.
