Chelsea will not part ways with Mauricio Pochettino in the summer despite the recent links with Liverpool target Mauricio Pochettino.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Mauricio Pochettino will unlikely depart from Stamford Bridge after the 2023/24 season ends. The pressure has been building on the 52-year-old Argentine tactician due to Chelsea’s faltering campaign. However, the West London club will not part ways with him in the summer.

Mauricio Pochettino and his managerial journey so far

Mauricio Pochettino has been among the most revered managers in the world since he rose in prominence at Southampton FC. The 52-year-old, who represented Argentina 20 times during his professional career, cut his teeth in the managerial world at Espanyol before arriving in England in 2013.

Pochettino’s stock skyrocketed during his stint with Tottenham Hotspur, bringing him to the radar of most top clubs across Europe. The Argentine tactician spent five years at the North London club, regularly taking them to the Premier League top four while guiding them to the UEFA Champions League final in 2019.

Since then, Pochettino’s career has ebbed and flown, although he won the Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain. The former Tottenham manager joined Chelsea last summer after the West London club endured a horrendous 2023/24 campaign. However, things have only marginally improved for Chelsea, with the Blues ninth on the table and unlikely to clinch a top-four finish.

While Chelsea reached the EFL Cup final, there have been causes for concern. In addition, a few players want the club to sack Pochettino. So, the pressure has been ramping on the 52-year-old Argentine tactician, especially amid the heavy links with Ruben Amorim.

What next?

The Portuguese tactician is also a target for several other clubs, including Liverpool and West Ham United. However, Chelsea might not end up considering Amorim as Pochettino’s replacement, with the former Tottenham manager seemingly saving his job at Stamford Bridge.

The report has claimed that Chelsea will not part ways with the Argentine tactician in the summer despite some underwhelming displays. So, Pochettino’s job is seemingly safe despite recent reports linking the West London club with Liverpool target Ruben Amorim.
