Real Madrid are reportedly keeping tabs on RB Leipzig trio Christopher Nkunku, Nordi Mukiele and former Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Real Madrid have set their sights on RB Leipzig in search of their next set of reinforcements. To that end, the Spanish giants have scouted as many as three players, including former Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba, apart from Nordi Mukiele and Christopher Nkunku.

Real Madrid have seen a strong start to the season go pear-shaped heading into the international break. And as the campaign continues to wear on, the time to lay down a plan for next summer’s transfer window is edging closer. So, with that in mind, the scouting missions have begun, and to that end, Real Madrid recently had eyes firmly on three RB Leipzig players.

The players in question are Nordi Mukiele, Christopher Nkunku and Ilaix Moriba. Each of the three players have previously been linked with Los Blancos, and for good reason. Nkunku, in particular, has made remarkable progress since joining Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain and has made a strong start to the 2021/22 season, with nine goals and three assists in just 10 appearances so far.

Mukiele, on the other hand, has made an impression with his versatility over the course of his stay with Leipzig. As for Ilaix Moriba, the 18-year-old is yet to get going since joining the Bundesliga giants from Barcelona in the summer, managing just the solitary appearance so far, which came this past weekend against VfL Bochum.

Real Madrid indeed had their sights set on Moriba’s situation at Barcelona in the summer as well, and have been keen admirers of his talents for some time. And with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos well into their thirties, Moriba could be just the player to come in and fill the void of either player.

Nkunku, on the other hand, would be more of an attacking reinforcement. if Real Madrid do decide to make their move for the Frenchman, who will possibly come in as a long-term replacement for Marco Asensio, whose Real Madrid future continues to be uncertain.

Finally, Mukiele appears to be the most ideal of targets for Real Madrid amid the fitness struggles of Dani Carvajal. With Lucas Vazquez only a makeshift option, signing someone a versatile option like Mukiele could make a world of sense for Real Madrid.

Having said that, the Merengues are simply tracking the progress of the young trio and it remains to be seen if they eventually end up firming their interest in any or each of the aforementioned trio. For now, Real Madrid’s scouting mission seems to have taken them to the Bundesliga, with Nkunku, Mukiele and Moriba on their radar.
