Transfer News: Manchester United ready bumper package to lure Harry Kane

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to offer Harry Kane an attractive package to lure Harry Kane, also a target for Manchester City and Chelsea.

According to a report by The Times, Manchester United are prepared to offer quite a substantial financial package to Harry Kane to take a lead in the race to sign him in the summer transfer window. The Tottenham Hotspur striker is also the subject of interest from Manchester City and Chelsea.

Harry Kane is one of the hottest properties heading into the summer transfer window following yet another disappointing season for Tottenham. On a personal level, Kane ended up enjoying one of the more productive campaigns for a players in 2020/21, with 33 goals and 21 assists in 49 outings across all competitions.

23 goals and 14 assists from that tally came in the Premier League, earning the 27-year-old the Golden Boot as well as the Playmaker Award. However, Spurs’ struggles have meant that Kane is reportedly eager to call it quits at the north London club this summer. This situation has piqued the interest of three English bigwigs in Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Manchester United are hot on the trails of Kane for good reason. Anthony Martial has endured a disappointing 2020/21 campaign and could well have fallen behind Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood in the pecking order for strikers once he returns from his knee injury. However, Cavani, at 34, cannot play week in week out while Greenwood could need a couple of years to be completely ready to be the first-choice striker.

As for Chelsea, their interest in Kane is propped up by the fact that both Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham are set to depart Stamford Bridge this summer. In addition, neither Timo Werner no Kai Havertz has yet been consistent enough to lead Chelsea to a triumphant campaign, yet. Kane, to that end, is as prolific as they come, making him a viable target for the Blues.

Manchester City, meanwhile, are in the market for a long-term replacement for club legend Sergio Aguero. As a result, the newly-crowned Premier League champions have been linked with Robert Lewandowski, Erling Haaland and others, while also joining Manchester United and Chelsea in pursuit of Kane.

Manchester United, though, are ready to leave Chelsea and City by the wayside in pursuit of Kane, having prepared a lucrative financial package to tempt him to leave Tottenham by choosing a move to Old Trafford. United are even prepared to part ways with Martial to make room and free up funds to land Kane and it remains to be seen if they prevail in the race to sign the England captain.
