Chelsea are reportedly considering the possibility of bringing back their former titan, Eden Hazard from Real Madrid in the summer.

According to a report from Spanish publication Defensa Central, Premier League giants Chelsea could approach Real Madrid for a startling move, as the Blues would are assessing the prospect of bringing back Eden Hazard to Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.

The Real Madrid No. 7 has been going through a rugged patch since joining them from Chelsea in the summer of 2019. Hazard has found it hard to settle down in the Spanish capital club, and his struggles could end up having a pivotal impact on his future with the Merengues.

With his reputation as one of those fundamental linchpins of the modern era, Hazard’s unanticipated downfall has been a concerning sight. The Belgian international has just managed to feature in just 35 games under manager Zinedine Zidane, with a paltry return of just 4 goals and 7 assists to show for.

Hazard was hit with another muscle injury in a recent training session and is unlikely to be available in the upcoming crucial few weeks for Real Madrid. Due to such recurring problems, he has failed to become a reliable figure for the club, which has put Los Blancos’ chances of retaining the La Liga title jeopardy.

Hazard, however, could have an opportunity to turn his fortunes around, with his former club Chelsea looking to offer him a chance at redemption.

Chelsea, under new manager Thomas Tuchel, have certainly started the proceedings promisingly, and the Blues are quite hopeful about ushering in a bright period under the German. In spite of the positive start, Tuchel needs to vindicate his principles in a way which would offer his squad enough strength and balance to hunt for silverware.

Chelsea have been criticized for their reckless spending in the last summer window, and as they wait to mould the pieces into a competent structure, the London side will be cautious over their future signings.

The Blues are aware of the fragile status of their former talisman, Hazard, which is definitely concerning. But because of the player’s iconic status at the club and his past exploits, which are unparalleled in every sense, they won’t be able to disregard the option of bringing him back.

As far as the Blues are concerned, the return of Hazard could turn out to be a great move as they look to re-establish their footing among the other eminent forces in Europe. Tuchel has been monitoring the faces who could become valuable assets in his scheme. Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland is a top target for Chelsea, but they face competition from Manchester City.

The aforementioned report now claims that Hazard is seen as another vital addition who could help propel the Blues back to elite status. However, they are unwilling to offer more than €40-€50 million for the Belgian’s signing. It remains to be seen if the Real Madrid superstar secures a return to Stamford Bridge come summer.
