AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek has been offered to Chelsea, with fellow Londoners Tottenham also interested in signing him this month.

According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Krzysztof Piatek has been offered to Chelsea by his agents over a move in the current transfer window. The AC Milan striker, who is also the subject of interest from Tottenham, could be a possible replacement for Olivier Giroud.

Piatek enjoyed a sensational rise to fame at the start of last season, scoring goals for fun when he was with Genoa. A sensational first half of the season saw him earn a move to AC Milan, but that is when the chips fell down spectacularly.

While Piatek was in fine touch to begin with, his form has plummeted horribly after a decent start, continuing into the current campaign. In 18 Serie A games, the 24-year-old has just 4 strikes to his name at a disastrous rate of 297 minutes per goal.

The arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic has sent him down the pecking order, which has paved the way for rumours of an impending exit. To that end, Tottenham have been linked with a possible move for the Polish striker, with Chelsea now being offered the chance to sign the striker as well, as per Nicolo Schira.

Chelsea are in need of attacking reinforcements, especially at a time when there is some uncertainty surrounding Tammy Abraham, who picked up an ankle injury last week. With Michy Batshuayi only seen as an emergency option and Olivier Giroud linked with a move to Inter Milan, the Blues could do with a striker.

To that end, Chelsea have been recently touted to be tailing Timo Werner, although signing the RB Leipzig striker this month might be improbable seeing as the East German club are vying for the Bundesliga title. Tottenham, on the other hand, seem to be in an even more dire need of a striker.

Harry Kane is a long-term absentee due to a hamstring injury, and certain reports have stated that the Englishman’s season could have been brought to a premature end. With no other senior striker at his disposal, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has had to field Lucas Moura as a makeshift centre-forward.

As a result, Tottenham have been reported to be in the market for a striker, with Willian Jose named as a target. Piatek, too, could be a viable target, who, despite his recent slump, could add a lot of value to both Chelsea and Spurs’ squads, if he can manage to regain his form.

Having said that, it is unclear if Chelsea are showing any interest in the Pole, and as per the current situation, talks are ongoing between the player’s agents and the Blues over a possible move. It now remains to be seen if a late move to the Premier League could be a possibility, with Tottenham chasing him and Chelsea being a potential suitor.
