Marko Arnautovic, who is reportedly a transfer target Manchester United, is being tracked by Chelsea, as per his brother and agent Daniel Arnautovic

In an interview with gianlucadimarzio.com, Daniel Arnautovic, who is Marko Arnautovic’s brother and agent has claimed that Chelsea are among the suitors for the West Ham United superstar. The Austrian international is also the subject of interest from Premier League rivals Manchester United.

Arnautovic has been a big hit ever since joining West Ham United from Stoke City in a then-club record move in the summer of 2017. After a few initial hiccups, the player settled in quite well, with David Moyes’ decision to play him as a striker reaping fantastic dividends.

By the end of the season, Arnautovic was the top scorer for club and a major reason why they kept their Premier League status intact after an unsettling campaign for the club. The subsequent summer saw him being linked with a few big name clubs, including Manchester United and Chelsea, before he ended up staying put at the London Stadium.

West Ham faithfuls ought to be thankful for his decision, with Arnautovic being the club’s top scorer this season as well with five goals. But, the player has recently hinted that he is ready for a move to a big club, alerting aforementioned suitors Manchester United and Chelsea in the process. And now, his agent and brother has named the Blues as one of his suitors.

“It’s not that he really wants to leave, but we believe this is the moment in his career when he has to take a step forward and try to win a few trophies, maybe even the Champions League. There are a lot of Premier League clubs tracking him. Chelsea and Everton, for example, but not only them.”

At Manchester United, Arnautovic could offer different solutions. Considering Romelu Lukaku’s recent struggles, the 29-year-old could be an alternative to the Belgian. If not, the player’s ability to play on either flank makes him while also contributing in a healthy manner an attractive prospect and a viable target for the Red Devils.

Chelsea too, have a similar problem at hand, with neither Alvaro Morata nor Olivier Giroud being prolific enough in their respective stints at Stamford Bridge. Arnautovic could also be deployed behind the striker, alongside Eden Hazard, paving the way for a dynamic front three, making him an appealing target for the Blues.

Daniel Arnautovic’s admission that Chelsea are indeed in pursuit of his brother, in addition to the West Ham superstar’s hints towards wanting a move to a bigger club does give the West Londoners an advantage over Manchester United.

But, Daniel Arnautovic has also suggested that Marko is happy at West Ham at the moment, which suggests that he would not force his way away from the London Stadium. This makes for an interesting transfer saga, if Chelsea and Manchester United decide to step up their interest in the 29-year-old.
