Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United are reportedly set to wage battle for PSG defender Layvin Kurzawa in the summer.

According to a report by Daily Mirror, Layvin Kurzawa has become a highly sought-after player heading into the summer transfer window. The PSG defender, who is set to be available, is being courted by the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United.

Kurzawa has improved leaps and bounds since joining PSG from AS Monaco in the summer of 2015. So much so, that he has also established himself as a regular in the French National Side. But, the 2017-18 season has been a mixed bag for the player, with his stature taking a hit over the course of the campaign.

Kurzawa was the first-choice left-back at the start of the season, but has since lost that mantle to Yuri Berchiche. Having made just 26 appearances across all competitions for Les Parisiens, it is believed that the club could cash in on the 25-year-old in order to stay clear of the clutches of Financial Fair Play.

The report iterates the same, suggesting that Kurzawa will be made available by PSG this summer, which seems to have piqued the interest of several top clubs in Europe. Among these, the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham are showing keen interest in the player.

At Manchester United, the problems at left-back are well documented, with Jose Mourinho having to field Ashley Young in a makeshift role over the course of the season. To his credit, the veteran has been a reliable defender so far, but the fact that he is on the wrong side of 30 does not stand him in good stead.

Luke Shaw was earmarked as a long-term solution at left-back for Manchester United, but his issues with fitness, coupled with the fact that he has never managed to win Jose Mourinho over are all set to see his time at Old Trafford come to an end this summer, accentuating the need for the club to sign a left-back.

Chelsea, meanwhile, look well stocked in the department following the acquisition of Emerson Palmieri in January. With Marcos Alonso regarded as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League, the interest in Kurzawa does come as a bit of a surprise, but the Blues seem intent on the Frenchman.

Tottenham on the other hand, are set to offload Danny Rose this summer with the England international coincidentally linked with Manchester United. With Ben Davies as the only other option, Kurzawa seems to be a viable target for Pochettino have two quality options at left-back.

Tottenham might fancy their chances, following their signing of Serge Aurier last summer, which suggests they enjoy a good relationship with PSG. But, Chelsea and Manchester United are sure to have a say in the matters, and it remains to be seen which way the player heads off to, with his PSG stint likely coming to an end.
