Arsenal have reportedly joined the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and other clubs interested in Manchester City custodian Joe Hart, who is currently on loan at Torino.

Daily Mail are reporting that Arsenal have joined the race for Manchester City custodian Joe Hart. The English international is on loan at Torino after being sidelined to the fringes by Pep Guardiola at the Etihad. But, after impressing on his loan spell, he has emerged as a shock target for the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea as well.

And Arsenal seem to have joined their rivals in an attempt to solve the goalkeeping riddle. All three of the clubs interested are embroiled in goalkeeping crisis, in one way or another.

Liverpool have failed to find a commanding presence in front of goal, with new signing Loris Karius producing some flailing displays. Mignolet has looked strong in recent times but the Belgian too is not short of his errors, which has seen Klopp being linked to the likes of Kasper Schmeichel and now Joe Hart.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have been longing for a great keeper between the posts since the departure of Jens Lehmann. Manuel Almunia was very error-prone, and so was Wojciech Szczesny. Petr Cech’s arrival was seen as the perfect move but the veteran looks a distant shadow of his domineering self at Emirates.

The latest of his errors came in a 3-1 defeat to his former home, Chelsea, who themselves are looking for additions in the goalkeeping department. Asmir Begovic has made no attempt to hide his desire to leave Stamford Bridge after growing frustrated at the lack of chances.

Thibaut Courtois, on the other hand, has been linked with a mega summer move to Real Madrid, with the keeper himself hinting towards a move back to Madrid in the past, recent and otherwise.

Joe Hart has himself admitted that he does not see a future at Manchester City even beyond his Torino loan spell, where he has looked convincing. While he does not boast of impressive numbers, with just 6 shutouts to his name till date in Italy, he has made match-defining contributions on a regular basis.

The Daily Mail report states that City are likely to ask for a fee in the region of around £15 million in order to agree to part with the player on a permanent basis, an amount all the three parties are likely to be ready to shelve out in order to add Hart to their ranks.

Joe Hart presents a keeper that is well accustomed to the Premier League and has proven himself as an elite custodian in his long career for Manchester City before being deemed an outcast by Pep Guardiola. And come summer, we could be seeing a transfer battle ensuing for the Englishman’s signature.
