Predicted Arsenal lineup against Burnley: Mosquera, Hincapie to return as only changes

Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie will return to the Arsenal starting lineup when they welcome Burnley to the Emirates on Monday.

Arsenal will aim to inch closer to winning the Premier League title when they host Burnley at the Emirates in their final home game of the 2025/26 season on Monday night. Mikel Arteta has new injury concerns to worry about ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Ben White has seen his campaign come to a premature end after sustaining a long-term knee injury in the Premier League clash with West Ham United in Gameweek 36. Additionally, Arteta is sweating over Riccardo Calafiori’s fitness after the Italian international picked up another issue in that match. Additionally, Jurrien Timber remains in the treatment room due to a groin issue.

Mikel Merino is the only other absentee for the home side as he recovers from a long-term foot injury. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Arteta provided fitness updates on Timber, White, and Calafiori.

The Arsenal manager said, “Not much [of an update] at the moment. We still have a few days till Monday. We’ll have to wait and see how certain players evolve and whether they are available or not. We need to look at alternatives [to White and Timber]. The two players that we have, they are not available at the moment.”

“The good thing is that we have experienced that all over the pitch this season, because when we had issues, normally they were in the same positions as well. We have managed still to find the right level of performance and consistency, so I’m sure we will do that.”

“We have to wait and see. It looks like a long-term injury. At the moment, the focus is can we have him [White] back and be available for Arsenal. That’s not going to happen in many, many weeks. He [Timber] wanted to be very close to the team. He’s progressed a little bit in the last few days. We’re going to try to get him fit and available as quickly as possible, but let’s see.”

David Raya is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Arsenal lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him against Burnley on Monday. The backline will feature Cristhian Mosquera, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Piero Hincapie.

As for the midfield unit, Myles Lewis-Skelly will line up alongside Declan Rice in the double pivot, with Martin Zubimendi missing out again. Eberechi Eze will reprise the no. 10 role, with Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard being the two wide attackers. Finally, Viktor Gyokeres will lead the line for the home side against Burnley on Monday.

Predicted Arsenal XI: Raya; Mosquera, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie; Lewis-Skelly, Rice; Saka, Eze, Trossard; Gyokeres
