Crystal Palace uninterested in winter exit for Daniel Munoz

Crystal Palace will not entertain any bids to sell 29-year-old Colombian international Daniel Munoz in the winter transfer window despite slapping a price tag of over £25 million.

According to a report by Football Insider, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Barcelona are keen on signing Daniel Munoz. The three European bigwigs are eager to bolster their defensive units by signing a right-back next year and have set their sights on the Crystal Palace mainstay. However, the Eagles will not entertain bids to part ways with the 29-year-old despite slapping a price tag of over £25 million on him.

Daniel Munoz and his time at Crystal Palace

Daniel Munoz has established himself as one of the most underrated full-backs/wing-backs in the Premier League since joining Crystal Palace from KRC Genk in January 2024. The 29-year-old took no time to find his footing at the South London club, and he has become a pivotal figure for Oliver Glasner’s team in the last two years.

The Colombian international has made nearly 100 appearances thus far for Crystal Palace while chipping in with eight goals and 14 assists. Munoz has been integral to the South London club’s recent success, and his progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Chelsea, Manchester City, and Barcelona are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

A man in demand

The South American wide player has been on Barcelona’s radar for a long time. The continued interest is understandable, as Hansi Flick wants an alternative to Jules Kounde in the long run. So, Munoz remains on Barcelona’s wishlist, with a bid on the cards in the coming months.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s interest in Daniel Munoz is perplexing. Enzo Maresca already has two right-backs in his squad, with Malo Gusto and Reece James consistently producing impressive displays on the right flank. Nevertheless, Munoz is a target for Chelsea.

As for Manchester City, Rico Lewis has yet to win over Pep Guardiola and establish himself as the first-choice right-back, with Matheus Nunes occupying that slot in the senior team. So, Manchester City must return to the market for a full-back next year after reinforcing the left-back spot by signing Rayan Ait-Nouri in the summer transfer window.

However, Crystal Palace will not entertain any bids to part ways with Munoz in the winter transfer window. While the South London outfit will demand over £25 million to part ways with the 29-year-old Colombian international, they will not sell him in January, as they are competing on four fronts. Meanwhile, the player wants to compete in the UEFA Champions League, and a move may be on the cards next summer.
