The Blues are keen on reinforcing their defensive unit further by signing a promising centre-back in the summer transfer window. So, the 17-year-old Ajax wonderkid has emerged as a target for the West London club.
The FIFA Club World Cup winners have recently scouted the teenage sensation, watching him in Ajax’s pre-season friendly against Celtic. The youngster may be an option for Chelsea after losing Levi Colwill to a long-term knee injury earlier this week.

Aaron Bouwman is the latest highly-rated wonderkid to rise in prominence in his homeland. A native of Haarlem, the 17-year-old has passed through the academies at DSS, Koninklijke HFC, and Ajax. The young defensive wonderkid currently represents the under-21 team at Ajax, but he has yet to make his senior bow for the Eredivisie giants.
