Guido Rodriguez has verbally agreed to sign a two-year contract with Barcelona, with the Blaugrana having the option to extend it by a year.
According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Guido Rodriguez is on the verge of joining Barcelona. The World Cup winner will leave Real Betis as a free agent in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the 30-year-old has agreed to sign a two-year contract with the Blaugrana, with the deal having another optional year.

Guido Rodriguez has been among the most consistent midfielders in La Liga since joining Real Betis from Club America in January 2020. The jump to European football often catches players off guard. However, the Argentine international hit the ground running at the Benito Villamarin Stadium and has been a pivotal figure for the Andalusian outfit.
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old has also risen in stature on the international stage, turning out 29 times thus far for Argentina. As for the club level, the experienced midfielder has made 171 appearances for Real Betis, chipping in with nine goals and four assists. However, Rodriguez’s stint with Los Verdiblancos will end in the summer transfer window.

However, a move has never materialised, with Real Betis successfully keeping him at the Benito Villamarin Stadium. But that will change in the summer transfer window.
Barcelona and Rodriguez have been in talks over a possible Bosman move in the summer transfer window. The two parties now have an agreement, with the 29-cap Argentine midfielder set to sign a two-year contract with the Blaugrana. In addition, the deal will have an optional year to extend his stay until June 2027.
However, Barcelona must wait to formalise the move as they need approval on the Financial Fair Play front. Nevertheless, the 30-year-old midfielder is closing in on joining Barcelona, hoping to end the club’s search for Sergio Busquets’s successor.
