Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United have reportedly submitted enquiries to sign 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder Ederson.
According to a report by Goal Brasil, Ederson has become a popular figure in the transfer market. Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United are interested in signing the Atalanta midfielder. The three Premier League have submitted enquiries for the 24-year-old midfielder.
The Rise of Ederson
Ederson has established himself as one of the best midfielders in Serie A since joining Atalanta. The Brazilian midfielder’s first adventure in Europe came with Salernitana in January 2022, where he spent six months before moving to Bergamo by sealing a deal with La Dea in July 2022.
The 24-year-old has come leaps and bounds in the last 30 months, becoming a mainstay in the middle of the park for Atalanta. He is enjoying a solid 2023/24 season, chipping in with six goals and one assist in 28 appearances thus far. Meanwhile, Ederson’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Premier League Move on the Cards?
Arsenal’s interest in Ederson stems from the uncertainties surrounding Thomas Partey’s future. The Ghanaian midfielder has been on the shelf for several months due to his persistent fitness issues. The Gunners are thus considering cashing in on Partey in the summer transfer window. And the Atalanta midfielder has thus emerged as a viable target for Arsenal.
As for Liverpool, the Reds are also in the market for a midfielder who can contribute more in the defensive phases. While the 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder is primarily a box-to-box midfielder, he can reprise any role in the middle of the park. Ederson’s name has thus rightly emerged on Liverpool’s radar.
Meanwhile, Manchester United recently contacted Ederson’s entourage over a possible deal. The Red Devils are also in the market for a midfielder, with Sofyan Amrabat and Casemiro facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford. The Atalanta midfielder has thus emerged as an option worth considering.
Apart from Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United, Newcastle United are also keen on signing Ederson. All four Premier League clubs have submitted enquiries for the Brazilian midfielder. But the 24-year-old will unlikely leave Atalanta until the summer transfer window at the earliest.
