Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly keen on 16-year-old Birmingham City FC prospect Trevan Sanusi, a target for Manchester United.
According to a report by Daily Mail, Arsenal and Liverpool are among the clubs to keep close tabs on Trevan Sanusi. The 16-year-old wonderkid will likely leave Birmingham City FC in the summer transfer window. And the teenage sensation is also a target for Manchester United, among other high-profile clubs.
Trevan Sanusi has spent most of his formative years thus far with Birmingham City FC. A prodigious attacker, the English youth international can play on either flank, although he primarily plies his trade on the left wing. And the youngster is arguably the most promising young prospect at Birmimgham City FC since Jude Bellingham.
The 16-year-old has been representing Birmingham City FC’s under-21 side. Meanwhile, coaches tipped the teenage whizkid to break Bellingham’s record of being the youngest debutant for the Blues. And Sanusi’s progress has captured the attention of several high-profile clubs. Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool are his prospective suitors.
Sanusi has been on Manchester United’s radar for a long time. And considering the Red Devils are renowned for grooming youngsters to become world-class players, Old Trafford is an attractive destination. But the left-wing berth already has Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford as long-term options. So Sanusi’s prospects at Manchester United might not be bright.
As for Arsenal, the Gunners have revelled in a youth-oriented approach since Mikel Arteta took charge of the club. And while first-team debuts for youth prospects have been scarce, they remain around the senior squad. One such example is Ethan Nwaneri, who will soon sign a new contract with Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Liverpool might not offer Sanusi a quick pathway to the first-team squad. The senior team has several wide-attacking options. And while prospects like Tyler Morton and Harvey Elliott have flourished, the offensive unit might not have many open opportunities. Nonetheless, the 16-year-old is a target for Liverpool.
Apart from Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool, Manchester City, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur have also been scouting him. And with Sanusi’s departure from Birmingham City FC likely, it will be interesting to see where he lands this summer.
