Senior Manchester United scouts were present to watch Trevan Sanusi in action, and they could take the lead over Arsenal in the chase.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United have run the rule over 15-year-old Arsenal target Trevan Sanusi. Two senior Red Devils scouts were present to watch the Birmingham City star in action for the Under-21 game against Watford, which could mean they are ahead in the chase for the Arsenal target.

Trevan Sanusi has caught the attention of many top Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United, as he continues to rank through the ranks at Birmingham City. The 15-year-old reportedly rejected the idea of signing a scholarship deal with the club, paving the way for a new challenge.

Sanusi has seen his stature among the top clubs rise in recent months. He will turn 16 next week, thus making him eligible for a scholarship contract, although that may not materialise. Birmingham City are now totally resigned to losing the prodigious talent to one of the top Premier League sides.

Chelsea hold an interest in the 15-year-old, but Arsenal and Manchester United lead the chase. The Premier League giants are exciting options for the 15-year-old, who may wait on official approaches from the clubs. The Gunners, in particular, could view him as a valued addition to their developmental squad and use him alongside other promising youngsters.

Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri is also a target for other teams, and hence as a contingent, they are looking at Sanusi. However, while the Gunners keep tabs on the 15-year-old, Manchester United may have taken the lead in the chase.

Manchester United may steal a march on Arsenal for the youngster, with the summer window likely to make the two clubs battle for the 15-year-old. Wherever he goes next, Sanusi is unlikely to continue with Birmingham City beyond the current season as he seeks a new challenge to aid his development.
