Everton confident of making profit from Amadou Onana sale

Amadou Onana has been linked with a summer move away from Everton, with Arsenal and Chelsea interested in him.

Reports have claimed that clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal are keeping tabs on Amadou Onana. And now Football Insider believe that the Everton midfielder could cost in excess of £60 million at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old has been a key player for Everton this season, and his performances have caught the attention of a number of clubs, including Chelsea and Arsenal. The Toffees paid £33 million to sign the talented young midfielder, and they could look to make a £30 million profit on him in the summer.

Chelsea could definitely use more quality in the middle of the park, and Onana would be a superb long-term acquisition. Mateo Kovacic and Enzo Fernandes are the only long-term options at the club right now. N’Golo Kante will be a free agent in the summer if he does not renew his contract.

So the Blues must look to bring in a quality midfielder in the coming months. The opportunity to play for Chelsea is likely to be an attractive option for the young Everton midfielder. And he might be tempted to move on if there is a concrete offer on the table.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will have to bring in a quality partner for Thomas Partey. Mikel Arteta has not been able to rotate his midfield regularly because of the lack of options at his disposal. The Arsenal manager must look to add more quality and depth to his squad when the summer transfer window opens.

Onana is well-settled in the Premier League and could make an immediate impact at the North London club if the transfer goes through. It will be interesting to see if the two clubs are willing to pay the reported asking price for the talented young midfielder in the coming months.

There is no doubt that the 21-year-old is a prodigious talent with a big future ahead of him. But needing to pay in excess of £60 million for the midfielder could put off suitors like Arsenal.
