Manchester City are interested in signing 19-year-old Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior ahead of next season.
According to a report by Calciomercatoweb, Manchester City are interested in having the services of Samuel Iling-Junior. The 19-year-old Juventus winger has been on the radar of City for a while now. And, they are looking to push for his signatures in the summer.
Iling-Junior started off at the Chelsea youth academy in England. But, things did not work out well for him at the Blues. And, the Italian giants managed to strike a deal for the 19-year-old back in the summer of 2020.
The England Under-20 star has gone from strength to strength his making a move to Italy. He has gone up the ranks at the club at some pace. The 19-year-old was promoted to their first team in the winter of 2020.
Iling-Junior has already made seven appearances in the Serie A and he has also featured in the UEFA Champions League. The Juventus winger was on fire in his recent outing for England Under-20 as he found the back of the net twice. The teenage sensation’s contract with the Italian giants runs until the summer of 2025. However, Manchester City believe they can prise him away from the club.
Manchester City have kept a close eye on the 19-year-old for a while now. They are impressed with what they have seen and want to land him at the club. While they do have a lot of world-class players who can play out wide, they are still keen on signing the Juventus wonderkid.
People at the club consider him to be a great asset to have for the future. And, they believe he can grow into a world-class player under the guidance of their manager Pep Guardiola. However, it won’t be easy to bring him to Manchester because Juventus are not ready to part ways with the teenager.
As per the reports, they might consider letting Iling-Junior leave if Manchester City offer Julian Alvarez in return. The 23-year-old forward has 16 goal contributions in the ongoing season despite not being a first-team regular.
While Juventus are keen on having him, it is unlikely that Manchester City will trade the World Cup winner. Meanwhile, there are other Premier League clubs who are interested in the 19-year-old. As a result, it will be interesting to see if they can manage to Iling-Junior at the club.
