Inter Milan interested in Eden Hazard

Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing struggling Belgian attacker Eden Hazard from Real Madrid.

According to Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Eden Hazard is the subject of interest from Inter Milan. The Real Madrid misfit is facing an uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu and might take up the Serie A exit route next year.

Eden Hazard has seen his stock plummet since joining Real Madrid from Chelsea in July 2019. The dream move has turned into a nightmare, with the 31-year-old failing to make his mark. While injury issues initially hampered the player, he has been unable to perform consistently when fit.

The experienced attacker has barely featured for Real Madrid this season, managing one goal and one assist in six appearances thus far. And Hazard recently called time on his international career after a disappointing World Cup campaign with Belgium. Meanwhile, his future at the club level remains uncertain, with Inter Milan now interested.

The interest from Inter Milan is perplexing, considering Simone Inzaghi favours the 3-5-2 formation. Hazard, who primarily plays as a left-winger, will thus have no natural spot in the starting lineup. But after reprising a central role for Real Madrid at times this season, he might turn out behind the central striker.

Nonetheless, the Serie A giants are considering an approach in the coming weeks for the Real Madrid misfit. And with his stint with Los Blancos going nowhere, Hazard needs to take a decisive call on his future. A move to Italy might be what his career needs at this juncture.

The 31-year-old has also emerged on the radar of other Serie A clubs, including Juventus. Meanwhile, returning to England might also be possible, although his suitors remain few and far between. But recent reports had claimed that Real Madrid will look to sell Hazard back to Chelsea.

As for the interest from Inter Milan, it will be interesting to see if the player’s Real Madrid nightmare ends with a move to Serie A. For now, the Italian giants are considering signing the Belgian misfit from Real Madrid.
