Crystal Palace face another decision over Ismaila Sarr after a summer of intense speculation surrounding the Senegal international.
The winger stayed at Selhurst Park despite interest from several clubs. However, his limited involvement at the beginning of the campaign has ensured that questions over his future have not disappeared.
According to a report by Football Insider, Galatasaray are considering another move for Sarr, with the Turkish champions having already seen an approach rejected during the summer. Liverpool also attempted to sign the 28-year-old, but their reported offer of around £50 million was not enough to persuade Palace to sell. Sarr has only recently returned to Pierre Sage’s first-team plans after a difficult start to the season, leaving the possibility of another move open.
Galatasaray ready to revisit Sarr interest
Galatasaray’s interest is significant because the club have already demonstrated their willingness to invest in Sarr. Their summer approach was unsuccessful, but they have not completely abandoned the idea of bringing him to Turkey.
Liverpool’s pursuit, meanwhile, appears to have cooled and the Senegalese forward had reportedly been disappointed after failing to secure the move to Anfield, although he now has an opportunity to rebuild his position at Palace.
The winger enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 campaign, helping Palace to Conference League success while claiming the competition’s Golden Boot. That form explains why Palace resisted approaches despite his desire for a new challenge.
The Eagles are also understood to have made progress in discussions over a new contract for Sarr. His existing importance to the squad means Palace are not actively looking to force him out, but a sufficiently attractive offer could change that position. Saudi Pro League clubs have also been linked, ensuring the Eagles could face competition for Sarr’s signature if he does become available.
Galatasaray could offer Sarr the reset he needs
Sarr’s situation is fascinating because his transfer value and his current role appear to be moving in opposite directions. His performances last season established him as one of Palace’s most dangerous attackers, yet a difficult opening to this campaign has weakened his immediate position.
For Galatasaray, that could create an opportunity. Sarr would bring pace, direct running and the ability to attack space behind defensive lines, qualities that can be particularly valuable in European competition. With Leroy Sane being inconsistent, the Senegalese international will be an upgrade.
Liverpool’s interest shows that Sarr’s ceiling remains high, but Anfield now looks a difficult destination. If Palace’s contract talks progress, the club could regain control of the situation; if they stall, Galatasaray could become a realistic alternative.
We cannot yet assume Sarr is heading for the exit just yet. Palace have already shown they value him, and another strong run of performances could completely change the conversation. But if his playing time remains restricted, a 2027 move may become increasingly difficult for both player and club to avoid.
