Deco is keeping tabs on Estevao Willian’s situation at Chelsea amid speculation over his future, which is now taking precedence because of a lack of game time.
According to a report by Spanish news site Fichajes, Barcelona are continuing to maintain an interest in Estevao Willian, with the winger’s future now called into doubt. The Brazilian attacker is being closely monitored by Barcelona director Deco, as his lack of game time under Xabi Alonso has given rise to speculation about his long-term future.
Estevao Willian is widely regarded as one of the top talents in wide areas worldwide, and Chelsea will expect a few clubs to make enquiries about their talent in the coming windows. Last season was his breakthrough campaign for Chelsea, and he put in some meaningful performances that would ideally have seen him play at the World Cup for Brazil, but a late injury prevented that from happening.
The winger has been steadily brought back into the fold since the serious injury, and that may have been the main reason for Xabi Alonso to be cautious about his game time so far this season. In the league alone, Estevao has featured for only 23 minutes, although the manager did give him plenty of playing time in the EFL Cup.
The lack of game time has since caused speculation surrounding his long-term future at Chelsea, with the likes of Barcelona and Liverpool reportedly keen on the winger. Chelsea do have a strong say in matters regarding the 19-year-old wonderkid, as they currently have no plans to entertain approaches from interested parties.

Estevao’s agent did claim the winger fancied Barcelona back in November 2025, and that might be one of the factors for the Blaugrana should they approach Chelsea for the winger. However, the Catalan giants were keen on him when he was at Palmeiras, but financial restrictions prevented them from entering a bidding war with the Blues.
Barcelona director Deco has been keeping close tabs on Estevao’s situation ahead of the future. There is always the possibility that they could make their move for the winger if the conditions are appropriate, as the 19-year-old Chelsea wonderkid might feel ambitious enough to join Barcelona.
Hansi Flick’s system, as opposed to Alonso’s, tends to use wingers in the team, and the attacking style of play might suit Estevao in his career. However, there is a big hurdle in the form of Lamine Yamal, who tends to occupy the same right-wing role that the Brazilian favours, although Estevao can make himself useful like his compatriot Raphinha and play in different roles in the attacking third.
