Relegation-threatened La Liga club Valencia will reportedly look to sign 29-year-old Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma in a Bosman move this summer.
According to a report by Football Insider, out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma is the subject of interest from Valencia. The relegation-threatened La Liga club will aim to bolster the first-team squad by signing a holding midfielder in the upcoming transfer window.
Valencia’s decision-makers view Bissouma as a “complete midfielder” and will attempt to “finalise the deal before other teams enter the race” in the summer transfer window. With that in mind, they are “working on the details of the deal” as they aim to secure a Bosman move.
Yves Bissouma and his troubled Tottenham time
Yves Bissouma has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Tottenham Hotspur from Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth £25 million in July 2022. While the 29-year-old midfielder has shown flashes of brilliance during his stint with the North London club, he has no future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after rubbing Thomas Frank the wrong way due to his attitude.
However, the Malian international remains on the periphery despite two managerial changes, making only nine appearances thus far in the 2025/26 season. So, it is hardly surprising that Bissouma has no future at Tottenham, and the situation has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs, including Valencia.
La Liga adventure on the horizon?
Valencia mulled over signing Yves Bissouma in the winter transfer window, but a deal did not materialise. The continued interest is understandable, as they want to transform their midfield and rise in the standings after flirting with relegation from La Liga this season.
Additionally, Guido Rodriguez’s long-term future is uncertain, as his contract will expire on June 30. The Argentine midfielder “has yet to make a decision about whether to stay” at the Mestalla or leave as a free agent. Bissouma is thus a viable target for Valencia.
However, Valencia will not be alone in the battle for Bissouma’s signature, as widespread reports have linked him with other well-known European clubs, including Fenerbahce. So, Los Che must move quickly to secure an agreement with the 29-year-old Malian international.
