Bayern Munich join race to sign Morgan Rogers this summer

Bayern Munich will reportedly compete with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United in the race to sign 23-year-old English international Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.

According to a report by Daily Mirror, Bayern Munich playmaker Morgan Rogers is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are also keen on signing the 23-year-old in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Aston Villa will demand at least £80 million to part ways with the player in the coming months.

How has Morgan Rogers fared at Aston Villa?

Morgan Rogers has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League since joining Aston Villa from Middlesbrough in a deal worth £15 million, including add-ons, in February 2024. The Englishman did not take long to become a pivotal figure for the West Midlands club, and his exploits have helped him become a regular for England.

The 23-year-old has been solid in the 2025/26 season thus far, even though his output has reduced in recent weeks. Rogers has scored ten goals and provided seven assists in 45 outings this term. Meanwhile, the English playmaker’s progress has piqued the attention of several high-profile Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United.

A man in demand

It is unclear why Arsenal will dip into the market for a central attacking midfielder this summer. The North London outfit signed Eberechi Eze last summer, while Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz reprise the same role. So, it is unclear how Rogers fits into the scheme of things at Arsenal unless he plays on the left flank.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s interest in Morgan Rogers makes sense. While the Blues bolstered their offensive unit last summer, uncertainties surrounding Enzo Fernandez’s future have soared in recent weeks. While Rogers will not be a like-for-like replacement for the Argentine international, he can take over from the World Cup winner in the no. 10 berth that he has occupied during Liam Rosenior’s tenure as the Chelsea head coach and bolster their output in the final third.

As for Manchester United, the Red Devils are combing the market for a versatile attacker heading into the summer transfer window. While Bruno Fernandes occupies Rogers’s primary position, the Englishman’s ability to play on the flanks makes him an appealing target for Manchester United as they prepare to play in four competitions in the 2025/26 season.

So, he can share game time with Fernandes, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo before taking over from the skipper in a few years. Bayern Munich can also do with a playmaker this summer, as Jamal Musiala has yet to fully recover from his fitness issues. Additionally, with Serge Gnabry facing an uncertain future at the Allianz Arena, Rogers is an option worth considering.

The report has revealed that Aston Villa will demand around £80 million to part ways with the 23-year-old English international this summer. While the asking price is high, Rogers has the potential to live up to the billing in the coming years. However, it is unclear if Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Manchester United are ready to break the bank to sign him this summer.
