Juventus could face obstacles in their chase of Bernardo Silva, with competition and conditions around a deal posing big problems.
According to Calciomercato, Bernardo Silva is one of Juventus’s primary targets ahead of the summer, with the Manchester City skipper set to be available on a Bosman move. While the Bianconeri are eager to tie up a move, the competition in place as well as the conditions surrounding a possible deal are big obstacles they must manoeuvre.
Bernardo Silva has been a sensational player for Manchester City since his £43 million move from Monaco in 2017. In his nine seasons at the club, the Portuguese playmaker has won numerous trophies, including six Premier League titles and a solitary Champions League title.
Silva has reportedly made up his mind to leave Manchester City, despite some quarters suggesting a new deal could be on the cards. The 31-year-old is expected to attract plenty of high-level offers as he prepares to depart as a free agent once his deal at the Etihad ends in the summer.
He was offered to Barcelona and prefers a switch, although the financial realities faced by the Catalan giants could force them to cool their interest. Galatasaray are one of the interested parties, with the Turkish giants likely to be in a good position to offer a lucrative deal for the Portuguese international, and the same could be said about clubs in Saudi Arabia.
Juventus had established contact with Bernardo Silva’s agent, Jorge Mendes, over a potential move in the summer, with the club active in the market for high-quality free agents. The Serie A top-four hopefuls are eager to give manager Luciano Spalletti an experienced player like Silva, but there are multiple challenges ahead before they can secure the experienced playmaker’s signature.

Juventus have to manoeuvre through massive competition in the race for Silva, for starters, but the main obstacle is agreeing on a contract with the player, given his enormous wages at Manchester City. Once he leaves the Premier League giants, the Portuguese international will be looking for a contract big enough to suit his stature, and there will be clubs around the world willing to meet his asking price.
