Cassiano Kiala is attracting big Premier League interest, with Bayern Munich working hard to keep hold of the young defensive talent.
According to TEAMtalk, Premier League giants like Chelsea and Manchester City are keeping close tabs on Bayern Munich’s young defensive prodigy Cassiano Kiala. The two teams have held talks with the teenage defender’s father, although it is Bayern Munich who are working hard towards keeping hold of the emerging centre-back.
Bayern Munich, like most of the big teams around the continent, have managed to bring about a young gem from their youth system. In recent years, they have seen the rise of players like Jamal Musiala, and this season, Lennart Karl has made his mark in a big way.
There is another young talent steadily emerging in the background and taking strides towards the first team. That player is Cassiano Kiala, the 17-year-old Bayern Munich prodigy, who excels as a central defender.
The defensive sensation made his first-team debut in a minute-long cameo against Heidenheim when the team were winning 4-0. He has shown plenty of promise to make his mark at the club, with Vincent Kompany and the other Bayern Munich bosses viewing him as a long-term option for the club.
Manchester City and Chelsea have kept regular tabs on Kiala’s development, as they are always interested in signing the best young talents from around. The Premier League giants have reportedly spoken to his father, but the discussions were centred around building future relationships rather than an immediate transfer, which probably signals that the player is considering his options depending on how the next few years go.
Can Bayern Munich secure Cassiano Kiala’s future?
Bayern Munich have reportedly presented a good enough contract offer that will go well beyond his current terms, which end in 2027. Once he turns 18, the new contract in the form of professional terms will let the Bavarians secure the 17-year-old’s long-term future. However, the club are already looking at some promising young defenders like Luka Vuskovic, who could keep Kiala on the periphery in the future.
Incidentally, Bayern Munich are also keen on Barcelona star Pau Cubarsi, meaning they are active in their pursuit of young defenders. It will be interesting to see if the club end up signing one of those young defenders, which in turn hampers Kiala’s progress into the first team. In that scenario, Manchester City and Chelsea will be alert to make a move.
