Chelsea are reportedly being offered the chance to explore a move for Ballon d’Or winner, following reports of discontentment at PSG.

According to Fichajes, Ousmane Dembele could be a target for Chelsea ahead of the summer if reports of him being offered to the Premier League giants are true. The story stems from the Ballon d’Or winner’s recent comments, while the report also claims there are disagreements with PSG in the background over a new deal.

At the moment, any team in the world would love to have Ousmane Dembele in their squad, with the Ballon d’Or winner certainly at the top of his game. Having put in a stellar display last season, the French forward was instrumental in helping PSG win the treble, including the Champions League.

However, this season has been a. rough ride for the attacker with niggling injuries and his recent comments in the aftermath of the loss to Rennes. Dembele was somewhat critical of his teammates without naming names, which has allowed the media to speculate over his long-term future at the club.

Moreover, the current report claims that Dembele, who is contracted until 2028, is demanding a €60 million salary package to sign a new deal at PSG. The club bosses at the Ligue 1 giants are not prepared to pay as much, which then leads to further speculation that the 28-year-old PSG star could leave for a new challenge, preferably to the Premier League.

Arsenal have reportedly shown interest, as per some reports, with Mikel Arteta still looking for a new attacker to come into the team. Then Liverpool are also being linked with Dembele, as they are looking for high-calibre players that would drastically improve their squad.

The latest English side in the equation are Chelsea, with the report claiming Dembele has been offered to the Blues in an attempt to get them on the table. Whether that is true remains to be seen, but the Stamford Bridge outfit may consider exploring the idea of bringing the 28-year-old PSG star to the club.

Is a move to Chelsea possible?

Chelsea are not the same as they were many years ago under the ownership of Roman Abramovich, who used to spend heavily on established stars. The new owners stress signing young talents over experienced heads, in a bid to develop them for the future or sell on for a profit in the seasons to come.

While the report talks about a potential €60 million salary demand, Dembele is not expected to lower that demand should an English side attempt to sign him. Moreover, Chelsea may not be absolutely interested, given his age and the high finances involved in the deal, meaning this report could just be a rumour of sorts to stir up the pot over at PSG.
