Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are reportedly monitoring the progress of 20-year-old Ghanaian international Caleb Yirenkyi.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are interested in Caleb Yirenkyi. The three Premier League giants are scouring the market for a versatile midfielder heading into the summer transfer window. So, the 20-year-old Nordsjaelland midfield sensation has emerged as a target for them.
Who is Caleb Yirenkyi?
Caleb Yirenkyi is the latest promising African prospect to rise in prominence at a Nordic club. Danish outfits, in particular, have become the breeding grounds for highly rated prodigies, with several youngsters making a name for themselves there before moving to a bigger team. As for Yirenkyi, the 20-year-old spent most of his formative years in Ghana before moving to Denmark in February 2024.
The Ghanaian international has made significant progress in the last two years, becoming a mainstay in the middle of the park for Nordsjaelland. The youngster has made nearly 50 appearances for the Danish club thus far while chipping in with four goals and seven assists. Meanwhile, Yirenkyi’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Arsenal may dip into the market for a young midfielder in the summer transfer window, even though they signed Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard six months ago. However, Norgaard is on the wrong side of 30, compelling Arsenal to look for a long-term solution in the middle of the park. Several candidates, including Sandro Tonali, have thus emerged on the North London club’s wishlist.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s interest in Caleb Yirenkyi is understandable. The Red Devils are scouring the market for a holding midfielder heading into the summer transfer window, as Casemiro will call time on his stint at Old Trafford after the 2025/26 season ends. Several candidates, including Carlos Baleba, have thus emerged on Manchester United’s radar, with Yirenkyi also a viable target.
As for Chelsea, Liam Rosenior has a stacked midfield unit in his squad. However, Dario Essugo and Romeo Lavia have struggled with fitness issues throughout the 2025/26 season, compelling Chelsea to comb the market for a versatile midfielder. Yirenkyi is thus an option worth considering for the West London club.
Interestingly, the 20-year-old Ghanaian international is also a target for Brighton & Hove Albion, with the Seagulls viewing the youngster as a long-term replacement for Baleba. So, an adventure in the Premier League may be on the cards for Yirenkyi in the coming months.
