Sandro Tonali is garnering big interest ahead of the summer, with Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea among those keen.
According to The Sun, Sandro Tonali will attract plenty of interest ahead of the summer window, as some top Premier League teams are already planning moves. The late links to Arsenal have opened a fresh can of speculation, with the Gunners, alongside Manchester City and Chelsea, are keen on the Italian international.
Newcastle United could sweat on the future of key man Sandro Tonali ahead of the summer. The Italian midfielder was the subject of a late enquiry from Arsenal, who reportedly failed with an approach on deadline day, and now that interest may have opened the doors for others to chase the Italian.
As per David Ornstein on deadline day, Tonali’s agent reportedly offered Arsenal the idea of approaching Tonali. Newcastle United refuted the links to the Gunners, and internally, they had no plans to let him leave at all costs, not especially on the deadline day of the January window.
Tonali is reportedly considering his future beyond the current season, especially if Newcastle United fails to qualify for the Champions League next season. For now, he and his family are happy at Tyneside, but the future might take a different direction. In the case that the player who joined Newcastle United in a £55 million deal back in 2023 decides to move, a host of teams are already keen, including Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta would love the idea of having Tonali in his midfield setting, and Arsenal would be in a strong position to pay a big fee if needed. The deadline day links to the £55 million Newcastle United star could have helped them open dialogue with his camp, which could lead to a possible future move.
Sandro Tonali to leave Newcastle United?
Tonali has more suitors, as Chelsea were also linked a while back. The Blues may not have an urgent need to revamp their midfield, given the quality options they currently have. Although Enzo Fernandez is being linked with a move away, as well as considering Romeo Lavia’s longstanding fitness issues, they could angle a high-profile move for Tonali.
Manchester City are also reportedly interested, with Pep Guardiola already thinking about making changes to his midfield. There was, anyway, a need to bring a partner for Rodri, although there are fresh doubts emerging over the Spaniard owing to some fitness issues in the last 18 months. In any case, the Etihad outfit will be alert to the possibility of signing the Italian if he is made available in the market.
