Chelsea, Manchester United told to pay €60 million for Mile Svilar

AS Roma will reportedly demand around €60 million to part ways with 26-year-old Serbian international Mile Svilar amid his links with Chelsea and Manchester United.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in Mile Svilar. The two Premier League clubs are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad by signing a top-class goalkeeper this year. So, the 26-year-old AS Roma shot-stopper has emerged as a target for them.

The latest report has revealed the Belgium-born goalkeeper’s price tag, as the Serie A club will demand around €60 million to part ways with him. A deal of that value is unlikely to materialise in the winter transfer window, meaning Chelsea and Manchester United will wait until the summer to secure his services.

How has Mile Svilar fared in Serie A?

Mile Svilar has established himself as one of the most reliable and underrated goalkeepers in Serie A since joining AS Roma from SL Benfica in a Bosman move in July 2022. The 26-year-old has made considerable progress in the last three and a half years, becoming the first-choice goalkeeper for the Giallorossi.

The Serbian international has made over 100 appearances for AS Roma thus far while keeping 41 clean sheets and conceding 108 goals. Meanwhile, Svilar’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. Chelsea and Manchester United are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature this year.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Meanwhile, Mile Svilar has been on Manchester United’s radar for a long time. The continued interest is surprising, as Senne Lammens has been solid since arriving at Old Trafford on deadline day of the summer transfer window. However, Altay Bayindir could leave Manchester United after the 2025/26 season ends, and the Red Devils may need a replacement.

As for Chelsea, the Blues may dip their toes into the market for a goalkeeper in the summer transfer window, as Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen have not been dependable between the sticks. Additionally, the latter has been pushing to leave the West London club this month amid his links with Besiktas. So, Svilar has emerged as a viable target for Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Svilar will cost a significant sum, as AS Roma will demand around €60 million to part ways with him this year. A deal of that value is unlikely to materialise in the winter transfer window, meaning Chelsea and Manchester United will wait until the summer to land the 26-year-old Serbian international.
