Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly compete with Manchester United in the race to sign 26-year-old USMNT international Tyler Adams from Bournemouth.
According to a report by Caught Offside, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Tyler Adams. The Bournemouth manager is also a target for Manchester United, and he has emerged on Serie A clubs’ wishlists. Meanwhile, the Premier League club will demand around €30-40 million to part ways with the USMNT international next year.
How has Tyler Adams fared at Bournemouth?
Tyler Adams has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Bournemouth from Leeds United in August 2023. The Wappingers Falls native spent his formative years in his homeland and graduated from the youth division at the New York Red Bulls. However, the 26-year-old rose in prominence during his spell with Leeds United.
Meanwhile, fitness issues have plagued Adams throughout his spell with Bournemouth, but he has also made his mark in the last two years. The USMNT international has made over 50 appearances thus far for the Cherries while chipping in with two goals and four assists. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur.
Move across the Premier League on the cards?
Chelsea may dip into the market for a holding midfielder to bolster the squad depth next year. While Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez have been world-class for the West London club, Enzo Maresca wants another option to rotate his troops efficiently. So, Adams has emerged as a target for Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s interest in Tyler Adams is understandable. The Red Devils are scouring the market for a holding midfielder amid uncertainties surrounding Casemiro’s long-term future. However, Adams will likely be a long-term replacement for Manuel Ugarte, who faces an uncertain future at Manchester United after struggling since arriving from Paris Saint-Germain last year.
As for Tottenham Hotspur, Yves Bissouma has no future at the North London club due to repeated disciplinary violations. So, Tottenham must dip into the market for a replacement, with Adams emerging as a viable target. Meanwhile, the American midfielder will not cost a bomb, with Bournemouth demanding around €30-40 million to part ways with him.
However, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham face stiff competition from AC Milan and Inter Milan for his signature. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the 26-year-old USMNT international.
