Harry Kane wants to remain at Bayern Munich beyond the 2025/26 season, thus dealing a blow to Barcelona, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
According to an update by Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Barcelona, Chelsea, and Manchester United are interested in Harry Kane. The three European bigwigs are keen on reinforcing their offensive units by signing a striker and have set their sights on the Bayern Munich centre-forward. However, the English international is eager to remain with the Bundesliga champions beyond the 2025/26 season.
Harry Kane and his time at Bayern Munich
Harry Kane has reinforced his status as one of the best players in the world since joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in a big-money deal in August 2023. The Englishman has also finally ended his trophy hoodoo, with Die Roten winning the Bundesliga title in the 2024/25 season.
The 32-year-old has taken his output to a meteoric level in the last two years, and he has been hot off the blocks this season. Kane has amassed 13 goals and three assists in only seven appearances thus far. However, the English striker’s long-term future at the Allianz Arena is uncertain due to an upcoming release clause, and the situation has alerted several high-profile clubs, including Barcelona, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
A man in demand
It is hardly surprising that a player of Kane’s quality is on Chelsea’s radar. The Blues seldom let go of any market opportunity, and the Bayern Munich striker is no different. So, while Chelsea signed Joao Pedro and Liam Delap this past summer, the former Tottenham talisman is better than both players.
Meanwhile, Harry Kane has been on Manchester United’s radar for a long time, and the Red Devils mulled over securing his services before they signed Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta. The continued interest makes sense, even though Benjamin Sesko joined Manchester United this past summer. Kane is a market opportunity worth considering, and he can be a short-term solution in the final third.
As for Barcelona, Robert Lewandowski is in the twilight of his career, and he may leave the Catalan club next summer. So, the Blaugrana must dip into the market for a striker, and they come no better than Kane. The 32-year-old Englishman is a like-for-like replacement for Lewandowski, making him an appealing target for Barcelona.
However, while Kane is an appealing target for Barcelona, Chelsea, and Manchester United, a deal may not materialise next year, as the English international is committed to Bayern Munich. It will be interesting to see if the European bigwigs can convince the English international to leave Bayern Munich in the coming months.
