Jarrod Bowen content at West Ham United amid Liverpool links

Liverpool have reportedly suffered a blow in their pursuit of 28-year-old West Ham United attacking mainstay Jarrod Bowen.

Jarrod Bowen’s consistent performances for West Ham United have resulted in a lot of interest from across Europe. Liverpool are one of the clubs that are keen on signing the English international, but according to a report from Football Insider, Bowen is content at the London club and won’t be parting ways with them anytime soon.

The 28-year-old made a name for himself at Hull City before joining the Hammers at the start of 2020 in a deal worth in excess of £20 million. Bowen has only gone from strength to strength since, and he has been one of their standout performers in recent seasons.

While things have not really gone according to plan for West Ham so far this season, Bowen has still put in some impressive performances. He has three goals and an assist in his 11 league outings.

Following the Hammers’ poor results, the English winger has been linked with a move away from the club. Multiple top clubs feel they can prise him away with West Ham involved in a relegation battle.

Pete O’Rourke on Jarrod Bowen potentially leaving West Ham

While speaking about Bowen’s future, O’Rourke said, “I don’t think he’ll be sold in the near future. There’s definitely no chance he’ll move in January because they will need Jarrod Bowen to try and help them stay up in the Premier League.

“He is the club captain, he is the talisman, he’s been top scorer for the last four years. So, he’s definitely not for sale in January. Things might change in some way, you just don’t know. If West Ham were to suffer relegation, then there might be a chance that Jarrod Bowen could move on. But every time there’s speculation about Bowen, it seems that he is content with life at West Ham.”

Liverpool are keen on Bowen

Liverpool have emerged as a potential destination for the 28-year-old. The Reds are looking for someone who can add more quality on the right flank, as Mohamed Salah has not been able to hit top gear this season. The Egyptian is in the final phase of his career, and he could soon part ways with the Merseyside club.

As a result, they are looking for a potential replacement, and Bowen can certainly help their cause given his track record for the Hammers. While he will obviously bolster their attack, the English winger will also bring a lot of experience and leadership qualities to the dressing room.

The Reds would certainly love to have him in their squad, but that looks unlikely, as he is happy at the London club and is not thinking of leaving them anytime soon. Meanwhile, the Hammers also do not have any intentions of letting their skipper leave. With his contract running until the summer of 2030, West Ham are in complete control of his future. However, a potential relegation to the second division could change things up.
