Barcelona are in front of some rivals in the chase for PSG teenager Ibrahim Mbaye, with Liverpool and Chelsea also mentioned as suitors.
According to Ekrem Konur, Ibrahim Mbaye is attracting big interest from some of the big teams across the continent. The PSG teenager is coming into a crucial period of his career where he could evaluate his options as Barcelona are considered the front-runners for the winger, with Chelsea and Liverpool also in the mix.
Ibrahim Mbaye is seen as a big talent in PSG’s hands, and they are already making plans for his future. Last season, he played nine Ligue 1 games, and he has already played more than half the number in the new season in the league.
PSG have reportedly offered him a new deal to tie his future to the club, although there has not been a straightforward answer from the player’s camp. The teenager’s current deal expires in 2027, which does allow the Parisians more time to negotiate terms, although they are already under pressure owing to the growing interest from elsewhere.
PSG are hopeful of keeping the player for the long term, but at the moment, Barcelona are reportedly leading the race for the 17-year-old PSG wonderkid. Much will depend on the financial capabilities the Blaugrana could have, while the asking price from the Parisians will also be key.
The Catalan giants have shown a knack for developing some top talents from a young age in their first team, as that could be a big factor for the 17-year-old PSG wonderkid. Hence, it is not ideal to discount Barcelona from the equation, as they are probably very attractive for Mbaye to consider them if, at all, he is planning on leaving PSG.
Chelsea and Liverpool are in the mix for Ibrahim Mbaye
Mbaye also has suitors from England, as Chelsea are looking into his profile as another one of those young additions to their squad. The Blues have managed to integrate teenage talents like Estevao, who they kept at the club despite loan approaches from elsewhere. They would be keen to invest in a player like Mbaye for their present and future, as he is a player who fits into their mould.
Liverpool are also keen, while brimming with young talents like Rio Ngumoha, who they plan on keeping for the long term. The Merseyside outfit are now eager to explore a move for Ibrahim Mbaye if an opportunity arises, as a move to the reigning Premier League champions could also prove enticing for the 17-year-old PSG wonderkid.
