Chelsea interested in signing Eduardo Camavinga

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea are interested in acquiring the services of Real Madrid midfield sensation Eduardo Camavinga.

According to a report from Fichajes, Chelsea are looking to add more quality to their midfield going forward, and they have their eyes set on Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga. The Blues are considering making a move for the French international next summer.

Camavinga’s time at Real Madrid

Camavinga joined Los Blancos from Rennes back in 2021 in a deal worth €30 million. The 22-year-old has only gone from strength to strength since. He has already featured in 180 matches for the team in white and has also contributed towards 14 goals.

While still relatively young, the French international has already won two Champions League and La Liga titles, among other honours. Camavinga prefers playing as a central midfielder, but he is capable enough to feature in a holding role and can even start as a left-sided full-back when needed.

The 22-year-old was an important part of the team under Carlo Ancelotti, but that might not be the case under Xabi Alonso, who has preferred having Aurelien Tchouameni in the holding role and Federico Valverde and Arda Guler in his support.

With Jude Bellingham back fit and Guler pushed into the midfield, Camavinga might not have that important a role at Real Madrid when he regains full fitness. As a result, Chelsea are keeping a close eye on his situation, and they could pounce on any opportunity to sign him.

Chelsea want to sign Camavinga

The Blues admire him and consider him an ideal fit for their project that focuses on signing the best young players. The French international will bring the experience of playing in big finals with him, and he could form a dominating trio alongside Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

His resilience, physicality, and ability to initiate attacks could do wonders for the London club. With his current deal at Madrid running until 2029, the team in white remain in complete control of his future. The player is unlikely to push for a move as long as he continues to get regular minutes.

A lot will depend on the role he is assigned under Alonso once he returns. He is currently valued at €60 million, and reports suggest Chelsea are willing to meet that fee. Madrid could consider cashing in if their manager deems him surplus to requirements, which would also free up space for further signings.
