Chelsea and Manchester United will reportedly compete with Tottenham to sign 20-year-old Argentine international Nico Paz from Como 1907 in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Caught Offside, Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in Nico Paz. The two Premier League bigwigs are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a creative attacker in the summer transfer window. So, the 20-year-old Como 1907 whizkid has emerged as a target for them.
The former Real Madrid wonderkid is also a target for Tottenham Hotspur, with the North London outfit failing with a bid worth €40 million to sign him from the Serie A club this week. Meanwhile, Como will demand around €70 million to consider parting ways with him in the summer transfer window.
Nico Paz and his progress in Serie A
Nico Paz has established himself as one of the best young prospects in Serie A since joining Como 1907 from Real Madrid last summer. The 20-year-old hit the ground running at the club and contributed to 15 goals by finding the back of the net six times and providing nine assists. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham.
A man in demand
Despite Chelsea’s eagerness to sign the best young prospects in the world, it is unclear why they want to sign Paz from Como 1907. With Cole Palmer the undisputed first-choice starter as the central attacking midfielder and the Blues chasing Xavi Simons, it is unclear how the Argentine international will fit into the scheme of things at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s interest in Nico Paz is understandable. The Red Devils have reinforced their offensive unit by signing Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. However, Ruben Amorim can do with more productivity in the final third, making the Como playmaker a viable target.
As for Tottenham Hotspur, the North London outfit will aim to bolster Thomas Frank’s creative options in the summer transfer window after losing James Maddison to a long-term knee injury. So, the former Real Madrid wonderkid has emerged as a viable target for Tottenham.
Como will demand around €70 million to part ways with the 20-year-old Argentine international in the summer transfer window. With Chelsea and Manchester United eager to win the battle for his signature, it will be interesting to see if they will fork out €70 million to secure his services.
