Lucas Beraldo offered to Chelsea, Liverpool; Bournemouth lining up move

Lucas Beraldo has been offered to a host of clubs in the Premier League as the Brazilian defender nears an exit from PSG.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Lucas Beraldo appears to be available for a transfer away from PSG this summer, and the defender has been offered to a host of clubs around the Premier League. Bournemouth, Chelsea and Liverpool are all mentioned as potential suitors, as the defender looks to join a team where he will have a prominent role.

In the hours after PSG’s devastating loss to Chelsea in the Club World Cup final, news of Lucas Beraldo’s imminent exit came about. It was a bit surprising given Luis Enrique had him playing regularly last season, with the Brazilian defender making 38 appearances across all competitions, mostly in Ligue 1.

The report cites that the reason for Beraldo wanting to leave is due to the manager ignoring him for most parts of their UEFA Champions League campaign last season. In any case, PSG will not find any difficulties in their search for a suitor, as a host of Premier League teams are interested, with a recent report pointing to Manchester United being potentially keen.

However, the report focused on other teams such as Chelsea and Liverpool who have been reportedly offered the 21-year-old PSG whizkid, while Bournemouth are keen to launch a move. The Cherries are in the market for a new defender or even two, as they have already lost Dean Huijsen, while Illia Zabarnyi is incidentally linked with PSG.

The Cherries are expected to offer Beraldo a prominent role, and given the rate of development under Andoni Iraola, joining Bournemouth could prove to be a smart decision for the Brazilian. However, there are some heavyweight clubs linked with the 21-year-old PSG whizkid, including Chelsea and Liverpool, which could overwhelm the likes of Bournemouth.

Lucas Beraldo to the Premier League

Chelsea are in the market for a new defender and could switch their attention towards viable targets. Beraldo, for his part, fits into the Blues’ transfer policy of buying younger profiles, although any deal will depend on the player as well as PSG’s asking price.

As for Liverpool, they too are searching for a new defender following the exit of Jarell Quansah, with Marc Guehi their main target in this window. However, should they view the value in signing someone like Lucas Beraldo, the Merseysiders might consider a move, which again, will depend on his asking price, as well as the player’s desire to play second fiddle to the first-choice defenders under Arne Slot.
