Chelsea will reportedly look to sign 24-year-old Brazilian attacker Rodrygo Goes from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, but Arsenal may not pursue a move.
According to a report by a Spanish outlet Fichajes, Rodrygo Goes is the subject of interest from Chelsea. The Blues are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile attacker in the summer transfer window. So, the 24-year-old Real Madrid forward has emerged as a target for the West London outfit.
The 2024/25 UEFA Europa Conference League winners are ready to offer Nicolas Jackson in the deal to sign the Real Madrid attacker. Meanwhile, a report by Spanish outlet Cadena SER has revealed that the former Santos wonderkid is no longer a target for Arsenal.
Rodrygo Goes and his situation
Rodrygo Goes has come leaps and bounds since joining Real Madrid from Santos in a big-money deal in July 2019. However, the 24-year-old has reached a crossroads in his career after barely featuring for Los Blancos during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. That has led to suggestions that a summer exit from the Santiago Bernabeu may be on the cards.
The Brazilian international has turned out over 250 times thus far for Real Madrid while chipping in with 68 goals and 51 assists. However, the youngster’s situation has piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. Recent reports have linked him with Arsenal, with Chelsea also among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.
London calling?
Arsenal’s erstwhile interest in Rodrygo Goes made sense. While the Gunners are closing in on signing Noni Madueke from Chelsea, Mikel Arteta has wanted more firepower in the final third. The Real Madrid attacker was thus an option worth considering for Arsenal. However, the North London giants have ruled out a summer move for the Real Madrid attacker.
As for Chelsea, Madueke’s departure has compelled the West London club to seek a summer move for a replacement. While Estevao Willian and Kendry Paes are closing in on joining Chelsea, Enzo Maresca wants more options for the flanks, with the Real Madrid attacker a viable target. The Blues are ready to offer Nicolas Jackson in a swap deal to sign the former Santos whizkid.
It is unclear if Chelsea can succeed with an offer to sign Rodrygo in a swap deal from Real Madrid by offering the versatile Nicolas Jackson in the arrangement. However, with Arsenal out of the picture, Chelsea may have a clear run at the 24-year-old Brazilian international.
