Aston Villa will reportedly look to sign 28-year-old Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri from Turkish club Fenerbahce in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Turkish outlet Milliyet, Youssef En-Nesyri is the subject of interest from Aston Villa. The Villans are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker in the summer transfer window. So, the Fenerbahce centre-forward has emerged as a target for the West Midlands club.
The African attacker is also a target for the Saudi Pro League, with Fenerbahce previously courting a bid worth €30 million from a club. However, Aston Villa will aim to beat the competition to En-Nesyri’s signature, and the Villans are set to submit their bid to secure his services.
Youssef En-Nesyri and his continual prolific displays
Youssef En-Nesyri has continued to be one of the most prolific strikers in Europe since joining Fenerbahce from Sevilla last summer. The 28-year-old was a productive attacker for Sevilla and has not missed a beat since moving to Turkiye, contributing to 37 goals in 52 appearances across all competitions.
En-Nesyri found the back of the net 30 times and provided seven assists, leading the charge for Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig and other competitions. Meanwhile, the Moroccan striker’s progress in Turkiye has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Aston Villa will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.
Premier League move beckons?
Aston Villa’s interest in Youssef En-Nesyri is understandable. While Ollie Watkins has been a revelation for the West Midlands club, the English international faces an uncertain future at Villa Park. Recent reports have linked Watkins with several Premier League bigwigs, including Liverpool.
So, Aston Villa must create a wishlist of strikers, with En-Nesyri emerging as a viable target. The Villans are ready to submit an offer to sign the former Sevilla striker from Fenerbahce in the summer transfer window. With the player reportedly open to leaving the Turkish club, Aston Villa have a decent chance of landing him.
However, Aston Villa may face stiff competition from other Premier League bigwigs for En-Nesyri’s signature. So, it will be interesting to see if the 28-year-old Moroccan international joins the West Midlands club in the summer transfer window.
