Chelsea, Manchester United most active suitors in pursuit of Franco Mastantuono

Chelsea and Manchester United are both making strong moves to sign Franco Mastantuono, despite competition from Real Madrid.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Chelsea and Manchester United are very keen on signing Argentine attacking sensation Franco Mastantuono. Both clubs could make a move this summer as they look to beat Real Madrid to his signature.

Mastantuono has made quite a name for himself coming up the ranks at River Plate. He has been part of the senior team since early 2024, making 55 appearances and contributing to 12 goals so far. While he prefers playing as a number ten, he is equally effective on the right flank.

The 17-year-old has shown maturity beyond his age, and his massive potential has put him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. While the club president Jorge Pablo Brito has already made it clear that he is going nowhere before the summer of 2026, clubs are pushing to secure a pre-agreement.

Manchester United, Chelsea, and Real Madrid are all eager to make Franco Mastantuono part of their long-term plans and are willing to wait until 2026. However, they are keen to gain an edge over the competition by securing a pre-agreement, a common practice when it comes to South American talents.

Chelsea and Manchester United to rival Real Madrid

Los Blancos have been keeping a close eye on Franco Mastantuono, and they are already working on a potential transfer. While the youngster could find it very difficult to turn down a move to Santiago Bernabeu, Manchester United and Chelsea are looking to make sure they can win the race for his signature.

Both clubs have been closely monitoring the teenage sensation and have emerged as the most proactive among his suitors so far. Manchester United’s technical director Jason Wilcox is driving their interest, as he sees him as one of the stars of the future.

Meanwhile, the Blues consider him an ideal fit for their project which revolves around signing the best young players from across Europe. While Real Madrid are firmly in the race and they are ready to trigger his release clause which has risen from £38 million to £45 million, Manchester United and Chelsea have not given up on him just yet.
