Al-Nassr eyeing Moises Caicedo swoop, Chelsea set high asking price

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr are reportedly plotting a raid on Chelsea for their 23-year-old midfield mainstay Moises Caicedo.

Al-Nassr have already started making plans for the upcoming summer transfer window. The Saudi Pro League giants are willing to break the bank to add more quality to their squad ahead of next season.

According to a report from the Daily Telegraph, the Cristiano Ronaldo-led side have their eyes set on Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo. Reinforcing the midfield is going to be one of their top priorities, and the 23-year-old is considered a dream target for the Middle East club.

Caicedo made a name for himself at Brighton & Hove Albion. On the back of his impressive performances, some of the biggest clubs in the country wanted to sign him, but Chelsea managed to beat the competition to add him to their ranks back in 2023. They forked out in excess of £100 million to acquire his services.

Moises Caicedo has been a regular feature in their team since arriving at Stamford Bridge. The Ecuadorian international is the only player to start in every Premier League game for Enzo Maresca’s team, who are pushing for a European spot.

Al-Nassr dream of signing Caicedo

Moises Caicedo has been a consistent performer for Chelsea, and his impressive displays, combined with his massive potential have put him on the radar of Al-Nassr, who have big plans for the summer. The Saudi Arabian club, who signed Ronaldo back in 2023, have frequently turned to the Premier League in search of top talent.

They added Aymeric Laporte to their squad back in the day and secured Jhon Duran from Aston Villa in a £71 million deal during the last winter window. Now, they are looking to push for Caicedo’s signature in the summer.

The defensive midfielder’s arrival could significantly bolster their midfield but signing him won’t be that straightforward. Not only will he cost upwards of £100 million, but Chelsea also might not be willing to part ways with one of their best players.

The South American midfielder is an integral part of Maresca’s plans and with the club looking to push for important titles next season, keeping the 23-year-old will be a top priority for them. They already have his long-term future secured with a deal that runs until 2031.
