Chelsea prepared to pay €40 million to sign Jesus Rodriguez

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea are willing to fork out €40 million to sign Real Betis’ teenage attacking sensation Jesus Rodriguez.

According to a report from Fichajes, Chelsea are keen on acquiring the services of Jesus Rodriguez, and they have already started working towards a potential transfer. The Blues are willing to table an offer worth €40 million, which will certainly tempt Real Betis.

Rodriguez has been a part of the Betis setup since 2021. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to their first team at the start of the year. Manuel Pellegrini handed him his professional debut back in December, and he has only gone from strength to strength since.

He has slowly worked his way into being an important squad player. The 19-year-old winger has been involved in 23 first-team matches and has contributed towards four goals. He has shown maturity beyond his years, and his performances have put him on the radar of quite a few top clubs.

Chelsea plot a raid on Betis for Rodriguez

Rodriguez can feature on either flank, he has the pace and the ability to take on the defenders. His massive potential has resulted in interest from Chelsea, who want to add him to their squad ahead of next season.

The Blues have started planning for the summer, and Rodriguez’s name seems to be quite high on their wishlist. The London club want to sign a new right-footed winger, as Jadon Sancho is expected to return to Manchester United and Mykhailo Mudryk remains unavailable.

They consider the Betis winger an ideal fit for their project, and their interest has set off alarm bells at the Benito Villamarín. The Blues are reportedly willing to offer €40 million to sign the teenager. While they have not held any official talks with the Spanish club, they are already making firm moves to convince Betis, as well as the player.

The 19-year-old has a €50 million release clause, but the Spanish club may be willing to sell for around €40 million if the player pushes for a move. While people at Betis do not want to lose out on him this early, they could let him leave if it benefits the project as a whole.
