Napoli could prefer Jakub Kiwior over Radu Dragusin

Serie A giants Napoli might prefer a move for Arsenal utility man Jakub Kiwior instead of injury-struck Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Jakub Kiwior is the subject of interest from Napoli. The Serie A title contenders are keen on reinforcing their central defensive unit in the summer transfer window and have also set their sights on Radu Dragusin. However, the Partenopei might prefer a move for the Arsenal utility man instead of the injury-struck Tottenham Hotspur centre-back.

Jakub Kiwior and Radu Dragusin: How have they fared in North London?

Jakub Kiwior and Radu Dragusin have been frustrated winter signings for Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur since arriving from Serie A. The former joined Arsenal from Spezia in January 2023 and has been a squad player for the North London club in the last two years.

However, with Arsenal struggling with a few fitness issues this term, the Pole has received some opportunities. The 25-year-old utility man has managed nearly 1,500 minutes of game time in 20 appearances across all competitions while chipping in with two assists. On the other hand, Radu Dragusin joined Tottenham Hotspur from Genoa in January 2024.

Since then, the Romanian international has been a backup player for Tottenham, getting his chances whenever Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven get injured. The 23-year-old has amassed over 2,000 minutes of game time across 28 appearances in all competitions this term. However, he has also picked up an injury this season, with his campaign ending due to a long-term knee issue.

Serie A return on the cards?

Radu Dragusin and Jakub Kiwior are central defensive targets for Napoli heading into the summer transfer window. The Partenopei will dip into the market for a centre-back in the coming months, with Antonio Conte keen on reinforcing his squad’s central defensive unit.

However, Dragusin might fall in Napoli’s wishlist due to his injury-enforced absence. In his place, Kiwior is rising in prominence, with the Serie A title contenders ready to launch the offensive to sign the Polish utility man in the summer transfer window.

Napoli should have a decent chance of landing the 25-year-old Pole, as he is reportedly ready to leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window. So, it will be interesting to see if Kiwior returns to Serie A by joining the Partenopei in the coming months.
