Sunderland continues to produce some top talents through their system, and in the first team alone there are some emerging players worthy enough for a top Premier League side. The Black Cats are gearing up for a tense summer window, where they could potentially lose a few of their first-team stars.
Chief among them is the name of Chris Rigg, with the 17-year-old prodigy having a sensational season with Sunderland in the Championship. A top-two finish and an automatic promotion to the Premier League remains a distant dream, although the Black Cats have given themselves a chance to qualify for the playoffs, and Rigg has been a key part of their success.
Sunderland evaded suitors during the winter window, as they wanted the right price to sell Rigg in January. They are also interested in Tyler Dibling, as the Southampton star alongside the likes of Dorgu, Kobbie Mainoo, Ayden Heaven, Chido-Obi Martin, Leny Yoro and if they get their wish, Rigg, represent a solid structure for the future. Hence, it’s no surprise that Manchester United are open to signing the 17-year-old prodigy from Sunderland while hoping to beat the big competition for the teenager.
