Manchester United keen on signing Senne Lammens

Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Belgian and Royal Antwerp keeper Senne Lammens with the view of a summer approach.

According to The Sun, Royal Antwerp keeper is back on the radar of Manchester United with the Premier League giants now considering a move in the summer. The 22-year-old Belgian star has been impressive with his form this season, as Ruben Amorim considers a few options including him to replace Andre Onana.

Manchester United will keep close tabs on the goalkeeper market ahead of the summer, as Ruben Amorim could pounce on the chance to sing a competitive new star. There are significant doubts about Andre Onana, with some quarters suggesting the Portuguese manager might be ready to part ways with the Cameroonian.

The report strongly suggests Onana could be the subject of a big approach from the Saudi Pro League, as those clubs from the Middle East are expected to bring a few keepers on board. One other target is Manchester City man Ederson Moares, as Manchester United might be thrown into the market in search of a new No.1.

There are links to Mike Maignan, while Andriy Lunin is also being strongly considered as an option to join in the summer. The idea is to either bring a direct replacement for Onana or should the Cameroonian stay, Amorim might want someone to compete with him for the No.1 spot.

There are hardly a few keepers that fit the criteria that Amorim wants from his stopper, and one of those could be 22-year-old Belgian star Senne Lammens. Manchester United have kept tabs on the Royal Antwerp star for quite some time, and in theory, he probably fits the criteria of a keeper that the Portuguese manager probably wants.

Manchester United to make Senne Lammens approach?

Manchester United could take their interest in the 22-year-old Belgian star to the next stage, and potentially approach ahead of the summer. Royal Antwerp are reportedly looking at a fee close to £30 million, which might make the Red Devils re-think their pursuit.

Should they achieve a large enough fee for Onana, then the club might think about paying what’s needed for a target like Lammens. Alternatively, they could potentially even try for a more established option like Maignan, as spending a large chunk of money on an otherwise inexperienced goalkeeper might be seen as a risk by the board.
