Aston Villa and Newcastle United will reportedly face competition from Inter Milan in the race for the signature of Jon Aramburu.
According to a report from Italian outlet Inter Live, Inter Milan, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United are all keen on signing Jon Aramburu. The Serie A champions are willing to battle the Premier League clubs for the signature of the Real Sociedad star, who is making quite a name for himself with his consistent performances.
Aramburu, who was once a part of the Real Sociedad youth setup, returned to the club in the summer of 2023. The youngster got promoted to their first team ahead of the ongoing season, and he has managed to establish himself as a key figure in the team in no time.
Premier League clubs are keen on Jon Aramburu
The 22-year-old right-back’s impressive performances in La Liga have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs. Aston Villa are one of the clubs that are interested in signing him. Unai Emery wants more quality on the flanks, and he considers Aramburu an ideal fit for his project.
Aston Villa have strong connections in Spain, and they did push hard to get a deal over the line during the winter transfer window. However, things did not go according to plan. Real Sociedad managed to hold onto their young sensation, and they ended up offering him a new deal with improved terms.
Despite the new deal, clubs remain keen on signing him. Asto Villa will have him as one of their top targets for the summer, and Newcastle United could also enter the race as they want to bolster their squad.
With Kieran Trippier’s future uncertain, Jon Aramburu could be a great replacement in the long run. Having already signed Alexander Isak in a big-money move from Real Sociedad, they do have strong connections that can help their cause.
Inter Milan to rival English clubs
The Premier League clubs are not the only ones keen on Jon Aramburu’s signature, and they could face competition from Inter Milan, who are looking for a long-term replacement for Matteo Darmian.
The Nerazzurri consider Aramburu the perfect fit for their team as he can feature as a full-back, a wing-back and in the heart of the defence when needed. His versatility along with his massive potential are major reasons why Inter have concrete interest in him.
The 22-year-old is currently valued at around €15 million, and Inter Milan feel it could be a great strategic investment with an eye on the future. But they won’t find it easy to sign him amidst interest from Aston Villa and Newcastle United.
