Manchester City are reportedly prepared to go through a tribunal to secure Leicester City’s teenage sensation, Jeremy Monga.
While Manchester City do tend to sign some of the best players in the world, they are also on the lookout for young stars with massive potential. They have found a gem at Leicester City, and according to a report from The Sun, the Citizens are prepared to make a move to sign Jeremy Monga, who is only 15.
Monga officially got promoted to Leicester City’s Under 18s ahead of the ongoing campaign, but he has already been spotted on their first-team bench thanks to his massive potential. The young winger has been the captain of England’s Under-16s, and he has been a consistent feature for the Foxes at the Under-21 level.
Overall, the teenage sensation has featured in a total of 16 games this season, and he has contributed towards seven goals. His impressive performances at the youth level have put him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in the country. They have been monitoring him for some time and would love to lure him away from Leicester.
The Foxes are all set to be involved in an intense battle for survival in the top flight. They are currently five points adrift of safety with only 11 games to go. While Leicester City seem set for relegation, they will try everything in their power to ensure they keep hold of all their young stars to ensure an immediate return.
Manchester City want to sign Monga
While Monga is yet to make his first-team debut, Ruud van Nistelrooy is well aware of his talent, and that is why he had him on the first-team bench for their recent FA Cup clash against Manchester United. He won’t want to lose out on the 15-year-old, but with Manchester City pushing for his signature, nothing can be guaranteed.
The Premier League champions consider him a special talent, and they are willing to try everything in their power to add him to their team. Because of his age, they will have to go through a tribunal and pay compensation to get him out of Leicester City.
The financial side of things won’t really be a problem for them. They just need to convince the teenager that moving to City will help his growth as a player and that he could soon get a run in their first-team. Meanwhile, they could face significant competition from rival clubs for his signature.
