Borussia Dortmund expect Jamie Gittens to seal summer exit

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund reportedly expect Jamie Gittens to embark on a new adventure in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Sky Deutschland, Borussia Dortmund whizkid Jamie Gittens is a highly sought-after prospect in the market. Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United are keen on signing the English youth international in the summer transfer window. The Bundesliga giants expect the highly-rated attacker to depart from Signal Iduna Park in the coming months.

The rise and rise of Jamie Gittens

Jamie Gittens has established himself as one of the best young attacking prospects in the world since joining Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in September. The Englishman spent his formative years with half a dozen clubs and graduated from the youth division at the Bundesliga club.

The 20-year-old has grown in stature in the last 18 months while enjoying his breakthrough this term. Gittens has contributed to 15 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net 11 times and providing four assists. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United.

A man in demand

Recent reports have suggested that Chelsea might break the bank to sign the English youth international from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window. Mykhailo Mudryk faces an uncertain future after failing a doping test. In addition, Jadon Sancho, Noni Madueke, and Pedro Neto have blown hot and cold. So, Gittens is a viable target for Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s interest in Jamie Gittens is understandable, considering Mohamed Salah faces an uncertain future at Anfield. The Egyptian international has yet to sign a new contract with the Merseyside outfit, with his current deal running out on June 30. So, the Borussia Dortmund whizkid is an option worth considering for Liverpool.

As for Manchester United, Alejandro Garnacho might become a cash cow for the Red Devils amid their struggles to keep pace with the Profit and Sustainability Rules. In addition, they can do with more quality in the final third. So, Gittens has emerged as a viable target for Manchester United.

The latest update has boosted the Premier League clubs’ prospects, with Borussia Dortmund expecting the 20-year-old Englishman to depart from Signal Iduna Park in the summer transfer window. However, the Black and Yellows want a premium to part ways with him, slapping a price tag of €100 million on him.
