Liverpool are ready to battle rivals Chelsea and Manchester United for the signature of Borussia Dortmund sensation Jamie Gittens.
Jamie Gittens’s impressive performances for Borussia Dortmund have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs who could battle it out for his signature in the next summer window. According to a report from Caught Offside, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are all keen on signing him.
Meanwhile, the Bundesliga giants could be forced to part ways with the English youth international despite having him on a contract that runs until the summer of 2028. Dortmund’s finances could take a massive hit if they don’t make it to the Champions League, and it could result in the departure of a few of their young stars and Gittens could be one of them.
Christian Falk in his recent Fact Files column for Caught Offisde said, “We have to keep an eye on Jamie Gittens. If Dortmund doesn’t reach the Champions League, I think they will have to sell him.”
Jamie Gittens, who joined the Dortmund youth ranks in the summer of 2020 from Manchester City, could soon be heading back to the Premier League. He is certainly enjoying life at the German club. The 20-year-old has been on fire this season as he has contributed towards 16 goals in his 30 outings.
Premier League giants to battle for Gittens
The youngster’s impressive performances have put him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in England. Liverpool are the one who are keen on acquiring the services of Jamie Gittens. While they already have a lot of options on the left flank, the Reds are still looking to add Gittens to their squad.
The English youth international has massive potential and the Merseyside club do not want to miss out on him. But, they are not the only ones keen on his signature, as Chelsea and Manchester United could cause problems for them.
With Marcus Rashford (currently on loan at Aston Villa) and Alejandro Garnacho’s long-term futures uncertain, the Reds Devils are looking for a young winger who can help them in the short as well as the long run. So, Gittens seems to be an ideal fit for Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are constantly on the lookout for young stars with massive potential, and the former Manchester City star could be a perfect fit for their project. If Borussia Dortmund fail to qualify for the Champions League and they are forced to sell the 20-year-old, there will certainly be no shortage of offers for him.
